Chelsea pair Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta reportedly emerge as potential transfer targets for Barcelona.

Barcelona have reportedly identified Chelsea pair Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta as two potential transfer targets.

At a time when their financial difficulties have been well-documented, Barcelona have been focused on drastically reducing their outgoings.

However, with Lionel Messi off the books and several other players expected to leave Camp Nou over the next two transfer windows, there may be leeway to make new additions in 2022.

According to Fichajes, the Catalan giants will be interested in signing Christensen and Azpilicueta if they remain as potential free agents.

Christensen is said to be on the brink of penning a new contract at Stamford Bridge, club officials rewarding the centre-back for his performances under Thomas Tuchel.

Azpilicueta, who will turn 33 next August, is a more likely target with Chelsea only likely to offer the versatile defender a one-year extension until 2023.
