Barcelona have reportedly made further progress in their efforts to sign Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso.
As a result of Ben Chilwell's long-term knee injury, the left wing-back has been a regular this campaign, making a total of 44 appearances in all competitions.
However, speculation persists that the 31-year-old, whose contract is due to expire in 2023, wants to make the switch to Barcelona during the summer transfer window.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, discussions regarding personal terms are "well advanced" with a move now seemingly more likely to happen than not.
Nevertheless, Romano adds that Chelsea are yet to decide on a fee for Alonso, something which could still scupper a deal with the Catalan giants not being prepared to pay over the odds for a player who has just over 12 months remaining on his contract.
The Premier League club will not be in a position to make such a decision until a consortium led by Todd Boehly has formally completed a takeover.
Chelsea are already known to be losing fellow defenders Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger on free transfers, the former said to have signed for Barcelona.
