Chelsea have announced that they have agreed to sign Marco van Ginkel from Vitesse Arnhem.
The 20-year-old, who has also been linked with Manchester United, has been the subject of interest from the Blues throughout the summer after impressing at the Under-21 European Championships.
However, it appears that the Europa League holders are on the verge of completing a transfer for the midfielder after agreeing a fee with the Eredivisie outfit.
A statement on Chelsea's official club website read: "Chelsea Football Club and Vitesse Arnhem have reached an agreement for the transfer of Marco van Ginkel.
"The player will join Chelsea subject to a medical, agreement of personal terms and legal documentation."
Van Ginkel joined Vitesse's youth squad in 1999 before turning professional in 2010.
