Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain has emerged as a transfer target for Chelsea, according to The Times.
The Argentine frontman has fallen down the pecking order at the Bernabeu behind Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.
It is believed that Madrid would be welling to sell the 24-year-old, but only at the right price.
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is keen to recruit a centre-forward in January with Didier Drogba heading to the African Cup of Nations and Fernando Torres struggling to find goalscoring form.
The Stamford Bridge club will reportedly make contract with Higuain's representative in the next few days.
