Teenage dutch full-back Ian Maatsen agrees a new deal with Chelsea to keep him at the club until 2024.

Chelsea have confirmed that young defender Ian Maatsen has signed a new long-term deal with the club.

Maatsen turned 18 on Tuesday and marked his birthday by penning fresh terms to keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2024.

The Dutch teenager has one first-team appearance to his name this season, coming in September's 7-1 win over Grimsby Town in the EFL Cup third round.

Speaking to Chelsea's official website, Maatsen said: "I'm very happy to have signed a new contract at this club.

"I'm properly settled here at Chelsea. I have good houseparents, good teammates and friends here. My language is good now – I'm really settled."

Maatsen, who operates as a left-back, arrived at Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in July 2018
