Everton to battle Chelsea for £22m Matias Vecino?

Everton could reportedly battle Chelsea for Inter Milan's Matias Vecino this summer.

Everton are reportedly still interested in signing Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino.

The Toffees were strongly linked with the Uruguay international during the January transfer window but were unable to get a deal over the line.

Chelsea are believed to be at the head of the queue for the 28-year-old, who has made 23 appearances for Antonio Conte's side during the 2019-20 campaign, including 18 in Serie A.

However, according to Calciomercato, Everton are also preparing a summer move for the midfielder.

The report claims that Inter are looking for a figure in the region of €25m (£22m) despite the fact that the South American has been told that he is not in the plans of Conte moving forward.

Vecino's current deal at San Siro will expire at the end of the 2021-22 campaign.
