Chelsea have reportedly contacted Sergio Ramos's agent over the prospect of luring the Real Madrid defender to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Negotiations over extending his contract - which expires in 2017 - are thought to have reached an impasse, with Ramos said to have rejected their latest offer.
The rejection is believed to be borne out of the Blancos' refusal to give him what Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema are earning at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, the Blues are willing to satisfy his salary demands and have approached his agent to gauge the likelihood of a switch materialising, according to The Express.
Ramos, who has previously worked with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid, is also reported to have courted interest from Arsenal and Manchester United.
