Southampton are reportedly refusing to weaken their stance that Virgil van Dijk is not for sale, despite the defender's transfer request.
The Dutchman released a lengthy statement on Monday confirming his desire to move on after being linked to Liverpool and Chelsea.
Van Dijk admitted that his relationship with the Saints has been affected following suggestions that he refused to train, which the centre-back has denied.
Despite his public declaration, according to the Daily Star, Southampton were expecting the 26-year-old to table a transfer request and they remain firm that he will not be sold this summer.
It is believed that Van Dijk would prefer a move to Liverpool over Chelsea.
