Monaco have reportedly emerged as favourites to re-sign Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Despite leaving the Ligue 1 outfit to move to Stamford Bridge in 2017, Bakayoko has struggled to make a positive impact, something which led to the Frenchman spending the last campaign on loan at AC Milan.
While the 24-year-old featured for the Blues during pre-season, it appears that Frank Lampard and the West Londoners have opted to part ways with the player.
According to The Sun, Monaco have expressed an interest in Bakayoko as they bid to avoid another disappointing year in France's top flight.
The report does not indicate whether Monaco are keen on a permanent purchase or loan, although Chelsea will likely be open to a sale.
Bakayoko played a key role as Monaco won the Ligue 1 title during the 2016-17 campaign.
