FA charges Crystal Palace midfielder Mile Jedinak with violent conduct

Crystal Palace midfielder Mile Jedinak is charged with violent conduct by the FA for appearing to elbow West Ham United's Diafra Sakho on Saturday.

Crystal Palace midfielder Mile Jedinak has been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association.

The Eagles' captain appeared to aim the point of his elbow into the side of West Ham United striker Diafra Sakho's head during Palace's 3-1 win at Upton Park in the Premier League on Saturday.

An FA panel of three former elite referees have unanimously decided that Jedinak's action, which was not seen by the matchday officials, was worthy of a red card.

The Australian now has until 6pm tomorrow to reply to the charge.

Palace boss Alan Pardew said that he didn't expect Jedinak to be punished, but the 30-year-old could now be hit with a four-game ban.
