Deportivo La Coruna have announced the sacking of Victor Fernandez following Wednesday's 1-1 draw with bottom club Cordoba.
A late Florian Andone own goal gifted Deportivo a point, but a run of eight La Liga games without a victory has left them just two points above the relegation zone and the club's hierarchy were quick to react to the latest disappointment.
"I have tried with all that I have," Fernandez said in a statement. "I want to thank everyone, fundamentally the players that have been a great asset and an extraordinary board."
The search for a new manager now begins ahead of Sunday's trip to Real Sociedad.
