Queens Park Rangers captain Joey Barton has admitted that he is not surprised by Fabio Capello's failure to select him in the latest England squad.
The midfielder has been awarded just one cap by his country, in a friendly defeat against France in 2007.
Capello has never chosen the 29-year-old and the player has revealed that he no longer checks the squad list for his name.
"It doesn't surprise me at all," Barton told Sky Sports News.
"I've sort of become accustomed to it - so much so that I don't even bother looking anymore."
Barton was recently critical of Capello's squad selection for the upcoming matches against Spain and Sweden.
