England defender Ashley Cole has thanked fans for the reception that he was given on Wednesday as he won his 100th cap during a friendly win over Brazil at Wembley Stadium.
The 32-year-old full-back became only the seventh player in the national team's history to reach the landmark.
"I'd like to thank the fans because I didn't really expect the reception I got," Cole told BBC Sport.
"It was very nice. I'm delighted and overwhelmed. I'm kind of speechless."
Cole was taken off at half time with a tight hamstring as goals from Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard helped the Three Lions to their first victory against the five-time world champions in 23 years.
