Two unnamed England Under-21 players are among 12 people that have been charged by police from Serbia following clashes that took place two weeks ago.
Players and coaches from both nations were involved in altercations towards the end of the qualifying match between the two teams that ended in a 1-0 victory for England.
Sunderland and England full-back Danny Rose has since claimed that he was the subject of racist abuse throughout the match from fans.
However, the Serbian Football Association have since dismissed his claims, insisting that it was Rose's conduct that was the major contributing factor to the trouble at the end of the match.
It has not been confirmed whether or not Rose is among those to have been charged by the authorities.
Police do want to talk to five Serbian players, while coaches from both nations have also been identified as protagonists.
