Leighton Baines "excited" by Europa League

Everton defender Leighton Baines says that he is confident the club can have a successful season in Europe following their 4-1 win over Wolfsburg.

Everton defender Leighton Baines has expressed his delight following his side's Europa League victory against Wolfsburg this evening.

The Toffees started their European campaign with a 4-1 win over their German opponents at Goodison Park.

"We are made up with that," he told ITV Sport. "To score four goals like that is great. Myself and Seamus Coleman have licence to get forward when people fill in behind us from midfield.

"Sometimes we both go, at other times one of us stays. We are getting that balance right.

"We are excited to be in this competition. We are looking forward to these nights, travelling around Europe. We want to get out of this group and go a long way in this group."

Everton are next in action when they face Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday.
