Everton boss David Moyes states that going through a disciplinary appeal with the FA is "murder".

Everton boss David Moyes has hit out at the Football Association's disciplinary appeal system following Kenny Dalglish's comments that the governing body are hypocrites.

The majority of Premier League managers have criticised the FA's stance on offences within the game and the Toffees manager described the appeal system as a "kangaroo court".

"They had the opportunity to appeal [Rooney's Euro 2012 three-match ban] and they were right to do so," said Moyes. "But you should see us when we try to appeal - it's absolute murder. That disciplinary committee - trying to get anything done, or get it through there is terrible.

"They should listen to the managers and hear their point of view. We should be given a fair and open opportunity when situations do arise, and I've got to say, the times that I have been in front them, it's like a kangaroo court - you've got no chance."

Wayne Rooney's initial three-match ban was reduced to two matches, leaving him available for England's final Group D match against Ukraine next summer.
