Matt Taylor appointed as new Exeter City boss

Exeter City announce that Matt Taylor is their new manager following Paul Tisdale's resignation.

Exeter City have named Matt Taylor as their new manager.

The former defender, who played for the club between 2007 and 2011, succeeds Paul Tisdale at St James Park.

Tisdale was the longest-serving manager in the Football League before he left his post with Exeter, having coached the Grecians for 12 years.

The 45-year-old said that he turned down a new contract to put "careful personal consideration" into where his career is heading.

Exeter announced Taylor's appointment via their official website and informed fans that he is due to issue a statement on Monday.
