Striker Kyle Lafferty has reportedly attracted interest from both Hearts and Hibernian.
At the end of the season, it was announced that Lafferty was being released by Norwich City after featuring for just 115 minutes in the Championship.
Their fierce rivals Ipswich Town have been linked with a controversial bid for his signature but according to Sky Sports News, he has been given the option of returning to Scotland.
Between 2008 and 2012, Lafferty was contracted to Rangers, where he scored a total of 38 goals in 138 appearances in all competitions, but he has failed to settle since his departure from Ibrox.
Last season, Hearts claimed fifth place in the Scottish Premiership standings, while Hibs earned a return to the top flight by winning the second-tier title.
