Hull City manager Steve Bruce has claimed that he is hopeful of announcing a number of signings over the weekend.
The Tigers have been linked with a move for Palermo's Abel Hernandez, and Bruce thinks that he may be able to confirm additions to his squad before the September 1 deadline.
Bruce told Sky Sports News: "We hope we can announce something either Friday or Saturday, and we're working tirelessly to bring in a couple of faces if we can. Everybody will be glued to their TVs and if it's possible we'll do something."
The Hull boss also lamented his side's first-leg defeat to Lokeren in the Europa League qualifier after they were knocked out on Thursday evening at the KC Stadium.
"We got off to a wonderful start, but we couldn't capitalise on it," he added. "We've said over there and we've made a horrible mistake really.
"We should never have lost that game over there, but we did and their away goal [on Thursday] has cost us. It's the worst result possible, and it wasn't our night unfortunately."
Hull travel to Aston Villa on Sunday.
