Argentine defensive-midfielder Javier Zanetti will become Inter Milan's record appearance holder should he feature against Novara this evening.
The 38-year-old Inter skipper equalled Giuseppe Bergomi's record of 756 games during Saturday's 0-0 draw with AS Roma.
"I never even thought I could be the captain of such a great club," Zanetti told Sky Sport 24.
"Equalling Bergomi's record was a very proud moment for me. There is no way to express how I feel about this.
"Inter are one big family to me and the club is like a second home to me."
Zanetti joined Inter in 1995 from Banfield and has since won five Serie A titles.
