David Beckham was reportedly left angered by the decision of LA Galaxy coach Bruce Arena to substitute him at half-time during his side's 3-1 loss to New England at the weekend.
Former England captain Beckham is said to have left the Home Depot Center without talking to any of the reporters that were present.
"I'm sure he is not pleased about it, but that's not the issue in the game," said Arena. "I don't know of any players that would be happy about coming out at half-time. I just felt we needed a little bit more.
"We needed to make a change in the midfield. It was purely a coach's decision. If I had 11 substitutions, I would have considered that."
Beckham was replaced by youngster Michael Stephens.
