Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has praised the maturity and intelligence of youngster Jamie Shackleton.
The Yorkshire giants have made a number of high-profile additions this summer, and the club have managed to win both of their opening Championship fixtures against Stoke City and Derby County.
However, Bielsa has also opted to hand a first-team debut and new contract to Shackleton, and the Argentine has revealed that he had been left impressed by the 18-year-old's character.
At a press conference, Bielsa told reporters: "I think Shackleton has many skills to be a successful player. The most important thing he has is a maturity which does not correspond to his age.
"He makes choices that correspond to the skills he has, and that is very hard to achieve in football. Simple. He is a player who plays simple, he does many movements by surprise. He's dynamic."
Shackleton could feature when Leeds face Bolton Wanderers in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night.
