Mark Bowen has defended former Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes following recent comments made by Neil Warnock.
Warnock, who was sacked by Leeds United on Tuesday, suggested that Hughes 'destroyed' QPR when he replaced him at Loftus Road in January 2012.
Hughes was eventually dismissed after 11 months in charge of the side following a poor start to the season.
"Everybody knows the club has been in a huge transitional period but it does stick in my throat a bit that Neil has lost another job and started throwing mud around," Bowen, who has assisted Hughes at a number of clubs, told Goal.com.
"When you look at Mark Hughes's Premier League record, before he went to QPR, it was fabulous, he had never been out of the top 10."
Hughes has been out of work since he was sacked by QPR.
