Sol Bamba: 'Leeds United must remain positive'

Leeds United skipper Sol Bamba tells his teammates that they "cannot panic" after an indifferent start to the campaign, as they look to climb back up the table.

Sol Bamba has urged his teammates to "stay positive" in order to get Leeds United's season back on track.

The Whites have won just two league games all term to find themselves down in 16th place in the Championship.

A 2-0 defeat to Birmingham City on the weekend also leaves United winless at Elland Road this term, with their last triumph on home soil coming some seven months ago.

Despite the latest setback, Bamba has warned that Leeds cannot afford to panic if they are to push up the table following the two-week international break.

"We can't panic," he told the club's official website. "That's the message. We have to stay positive. I know it's difficult but we have to stay positive and not show any panic. I understand the worries everyone will have because we're not winning home games but we can put this right.

"We know the expectation of the club. We have to be tough in the head and be men. I don't think it's about nerves or pressure. I just think we need to perform. After one home win things will change. It is all about getting that first one. The home record is annoying.

"We need to address it very quickly. If you want to do anything in this league, you need to be strong at home. I'm told it's seven months since we last won at home and that's huge. But I don't go too high when it's good or too low when it's bad. We just need to keep working hard. I'm sure that win will come."

Leeds play host to leaders Brighton & Hove Albion when Championship action resumes in a fortnight's time.
