Leeds United are reportedly preparing to announce the signing of Portsmouth defender Jason Pearce tomorrow.
The Whites' manager Neil Warnock has claimed that he expects to clinch his first signing of the summer this week, with Pearce expected to be the player in question.
"I'm hoping to make my first signing [tomorrow]," Warnock told Sky Sports News. "I'm looking forward to notching one hopefully and then moving on to my next. I'm into talks with quite a number at the minute and it's been a busy 48 hours.
"He's the type of player I look for when I go into a club. At Championship level there's a certain type of lad I'm looking at and he fits everything that I'm looking for, hunger, ability, there's a lot of plusses I look for."
Pearce began his career at Fratton Park in 2004.
