Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri: 'I have forgotten last season'

Claudio Ranieri says that he has forgotten about Leicester City's Premier League title win as the Foxes prepare to open their new campaign in Sunday's Community Shield.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has claimed that last season has been forgotten, and his focus is firmly on the campaign ahead.

The 2015-16 season saw the Foxes, who had only just escaped relegation the year before, win the Premier League title against all odds.

Leicester's triumph means that the East Midlands side will now be contesting the Community Shield against FA Cup winners Manchester United, as well as their first ever season in the Champions League.

Speaking ahead of the Wembley curtain raiser, Ranieri told reporters: "We're ambitious but know it will be very hard. I forgot what happened last season. Now my focus is on the new season.

"All managers and players want to play at Wembley. It's one of the most famous stadiums in the world.

"This is not a friendly. We will give the maximum and also Manchester United will too. Both teams want to win it."

The Community Shield takes place on Sunday at 4pm BST.
