Leicester City have confirmed that they have agreed a deal to sign Luis Hernandez from Sporting Gijon.
The 27-year-old defender will join the Premier League champions on a four-year contract starting on July 1.
He arrives at the King Power Stadium on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract in Spain.
Hernandez, who is a product of Real Madrid's youth academy, joined Gijon in 2012 and helped them to promotion from the Segunda Division before consolidating their place in La Liga.
The Spaniard made more than 100 senior appearances for Gijon, including helping them to keep a clean sheet against Real Madrid on his La Liga debut last year.
Hernandez will join up with his new teammates when they return to pre-season training next month and could make his debut against the likes of Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain or Celtic in the International Champions Cup.
