Lille full-back Mathieu Debuchy has slammed the club and said that they are denying him a chance to play in the best league in the world.
Newcastle United had an improved second bid rejected by Lille earlier this week, much to the disappointment of Debuchy.
He told L'Equipe: "I called the president and left him a message. I do not understand. One day he said I'm not leaving because I have no replacement.
"It was the coach, now it is the president. I feel that everyone does not have the same speech.
"I'm close to Yohan Cabaye and I followed his season. Now I should have the chance to play in the best league in the world."
Debuchy's proposed move to Newcastle has been one of the longest-running transfer stories of the summer, with no end in sight for player or club.
