Liverpool striker Divock Origi is forced off in the first half of their Premier League clash with Newcastle United due to injury.

Liverpool striker Divock Origi has been forced off in the first half of their Premier League clash with Newcastle United at Anfield.

The Belgian was something of a surprise inclusion as Roberto Firmino missed out, with Jurgen Klopp protecting the Brazilian following his international exertions with one eye on the Champions League clash with Napoli next week.

However, Origi lasted only 37 minutes before limping off with what looked like an injury to his lower leg.

The problem did not look particularly serious, but medical staff advised that he be withdrawn and Firmino duly came on in his place with the score at 1-1.

Firmino did not waste any time in having an impact on the match, playing the ball through for Sadio Mane's second as Liverpool took the lead three minutes after his introduction.
