Football Leaks reveals Barcelona paid Liverpool £64.98m for Luis Suarez

Football Leaks reveals that Barcelona bought Luis Suarez from Liverpool for £64.98m, not the £75m figure that was reported.

Football Leaks has revealed that Liverpool received £64.98m from Barcelona over the sale of Luis Suarez, which is £10m less than what had been reported.

The Uruguayan completed his transfer from Anfield to Camp Nou in the summer of 2014, and since has helped the Catalan giants to win the Champions League, the Copa del Rey and the La Liga title.

At the time of Suarez's transfer, it was widely reported that a £75m fee was agreed, but that is not the figure stated in the contract, which has been published on the Football Leaks website.

It has also been revealed that Barcelona are still paying Liverpool, with a final instalment of £12.98m due to be transferred on July 31, 2016.

It is common for contracts to include added payments should the player win the Ballon d'Or or a major individual honour, but Liverpool will not receive any money should Suarez achieve such a feat.
