Stephane Henchoz: 'Liverpool yet to replace Jamie Carragher'

Ex-Liverpool defender Stephane Henchoz claims that the Reds haven't replaced Jamie Carragher.

Former Liverpool defender Stephane Henchoz has claimed that his old club have failed to replace Jamie Carragher.

The Reds have signed Mamadou Sakho and Dejan Lovren since Carragher's retirement in 2013, but the Swiss, who played for the Anfield side from 1999 to 2005, thinks that his former teammate is still missed at Anfield.

Henchoz told talkSPORT: "One of the main problems as a back four is that they have two new guys playing at full-back, along with Lovren.

"Martin Skrtel is the only one who has some experience at Liverpool. They don't have a natural leader.

"Since Jamie Carragher retired, they haven't had that natural leader at the back. It's a problem."

Henchoz was part of the Liverpool side that won the League Cup, FA Cup and the UEFA Cup back in 2001.
