John Aldridge hails Luis Suarez's return

Liverpool legend John Aldridge talks up Luis Suarez following the Uruguayan's goalscoring return to Premier League action.

Liverpool legend John Aldridge has hailed the talents of Luis Suarez, following the Uruguayan's goalscoring return in Sunday's 3-1 win over Sunderland.

Suarez, who was playing his first competitive game for the Reds since April, netted twice in the win over the Premier League's bottom side, and Aldridge was keen to highlight the striker's quality, claiming that he was not surprised by the performance.

"I never had any doubts at all that Luis Suarez would hit the ground running on his return to the Liverpool first team," Aldridge wrote in his Liverpool Echo column.

"He's played in a couple of internationals for Uruguay in the past, and there were a number of behind closed doors organised to help keep him sharp - and he's the type of lad who always gives absolutely everything to his training sessions.

"Luis Suarez's return will be a major boost for the coming games."

The win over Sunderland took the Reds up to second in the Premier League.
