Brendan Rodgers has admitted that Liverpool's preparation for their match against Manchester City will be affected by their away fixture in the Europa League earlier this week.
The Reds host the Premier League champions tomorrow, less than 60 hours after arriving back in England following their penalty shootout loss to Besiktas.
At his pre-match press conference, the manager said: "It was always going to be difficult in terms of the preparation, you don't have to be a sports scientist to know when you arrive back at 4.30am on Friday and you have a game early on Sunday physically there will be a cost.
"But if you look at where the team is at there is no psychological damage from the other night. You can't dwell on it. The players gave everything over the two games, we were reasonably solid in the game and one mistake cost a goal."
Liverpool are sixth in the table, just two points outside the top four.
