Liverpool's Brendan Rodgers expects another twist in Premier League title race

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes that there could be another twist in the Premier League title race.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes that there is another twist coming in the race for the Premier League title.

The chase slipped out of the Reds' hands after they lost 2-0 to Chelsea at Anfield on Sunday.

Manchester City are now favourites to clinch the coveted trophy should they win all three of their remaining games, the first of which is against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.

When asked in Friday's press conference if there could be another twist in the title race, Rodgers said: "I believe there will be. Make no mistake, Everton in their own right are a great club - they have their own reasons to do their job, they won't need any more support than they already have.

"This is a time for perspective. Manchester City have a tough game, they have found it difficult going to Goodison for a number of years.

"We just have to concentrate on our own selves and what we are trying to achieve - we have to win our final two games and see where it will take us."

Liverpool will take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park before hosting Newcastle United at Anfield on May 11.
