Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler has declared that he remains hopeful of Luis Suarez remaining at Anfield next season.
Suarez has openly admitted that he would like to leave the club this summer, with Real Madrid and Juventus rumoured to be chasing the Uruguayan forward's signature.
Fowler believes that Suarez can help Liverpool win trophies if he commits his long-term future to Merseyside, insisting that the forward was the best player in the Premier League last season.
He told the Daily Mail when asked if he thinks that Suarez will stick with Liverpool: "I hope so. Any side in the world with Suarez in it is a better team.
"I hope he stays at Liverpool for a long time, I want to see him win trophies there. For me he was the Player of the Year. I think he was just more consistent. Gareth Bale and Robin van Persie were unbelievable last year but for me Suarez just edged them.
"All the best players have always had a little bit of an edge, and he has been on record numerous times saying he doesn't help himself."
The 26-year-old was Liverpool's top scorer by some distance last season, netting 30 times in all competitions.
