Liverpool have reportedly agreed a £13.9m (€16m) fee with Schalke 04 for Greek international defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos.
The 21-year-old is reported to have been on Brendan Rodgers's radar for a while, but the Reds manager has doubts over the central defender's fitness, as he started just nine league games for the German club last season.
However, Greek radio station Sport FM reports that Liverpool have had a bid accepted for the player, who attended the club's match against Fulham at the end of last season.
The deal could lead to 28-year-old defender Martin Skrtel leaving the club after five-and-a-half years at Anfield.
