Liverpool's push to sign Ezequiel Lavezzi appears to have been boosted by reports that Paris Saint-Germain want to sell the midfielder before the end of January.
The Reds have been regularly linked with a move for the Argentine international and are believed to have monitored his situation since the start of the season.
However, Le Parisien claims that PSG boss Laurent Blanc is keen to offload Lavezzi and wants the club's hierarchy to sell sooner rather than later.
Lavezzi's career with the Ligue 1 champions has been in doubt since he failed to show up at a winter training camp in Morocco.
Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested in a move for the 29-year-old and a reasonable bid may be enough to secure his services.
