Liverpool are reportedly prepared to prioritise new contracts for Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk before the start of next season.

Liverpool are reportedly ready to turn their attention to securing the long-term futures of Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk.

In recent months, there has been frequent speculation regarding an approach for Timo Werner, who is expected to leave RB Leipzig later in 2021.

However, with Liverpool said to be in two minds over a move at this time, it appears that the Germany international will instead sign for Chelsea.

According to The Independent, that will result in the Merseyside giants placing their focus on new contracts for Alisson and Van Dijk.

Although Van Dijk possesses a contract until 2023, Liverpool want to get a deal over the line before other clubs begin to express an interest in the centre-back.

Alisson is tied to Liverpool for a further 12 months, but club officials recognise the Brazilian goalkeeper's value in the squad.
