Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has warned AC Milan that he will not be conned over the future of Alberto Aquilani.
The Italian has spent the last two seasons in Serie A with one loan spell at Juventus before his current tenure at the San Siro. Milan have stopped selecting the midfielder, who is set to return to Liverpool at the end of the season because he will not have featured in the 27 games needed to turn his loan into a permanent £7m deal.
Dalglish said: "We've done everything right from our side, so how they want to play it and what they want to do, that's up to them.
"If they don't want him, tell the boy you don't want him. They will do what they have to do. If they don't trigger it or they don't want him, it's not a problem.
"I'll be disappointed for the boy, but he will come back here."
Aquilani cost Liverpool £20m in his move from Roma in 2009.
