On-loan Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina has insisted that his Liverpool career is not completely over, but believes that the Merseyside club are "happy" with Simon Mignolet.
The Spaniard, who joined the Italian outfit on a season-long loan last summer, penned an open farewell letter to Liverpool fans expressing his gratitude for their support.
While Reds manager Brendan Rodgers believes that Reina has already decided to leave for good, the shot-stopper has not shut the door on a return.
"There's always up and downs in a career," Reina told BBC Sport. "Obviously, the last two-and-a-half years in Liverpool there were different methods, and perhaps I didn't do as good as I used to under Rafa [Benitez]."
When it was suggested that there was no chance of a return to Anfield, Reina said: "No, that's what the manager says, apparently, but I've got two more years on my contract."
Reina also claimed that Rafael Benitez, who he now works under at Napoli, is the best manager that he has had.
