Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers hopes to bring in one or two new signings within the next 48 hours.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that he is looking at completing one or two new signings in the next 48 hours.

Rodgers has already brought Fabio Borini and Joe Allen to Anfield but is eager to add even more fresh faces to his squad.

The Reds have been linked with moves for Real Marid's Nuri Sahin and Barcelona's Cristian Tello, and Rodgers praised the work done behind the scenes to make any deals possible.

"There has been a lot of great work done behind the scenes, enquiring about players," said Rodgers.

"I'll find out [more] later, to be honest. We hope in the next couple of days we'll have one or two coming in, which is great - players that can come in and help the ones that are here. Hopefully in the next 48 hours we'll find out."

Liverpool will face West Bromwich Albion in their opening game of the new Premier League season on August 18.
