Lyon captain Cris has shown recognition for the efforts of Quevilly by inviting their captain to lift the Coupe de France trophy with him.
Les Gones secured their fifth Coupe de France title with a 1-0 win at the Stade de France.
However, as Cris was about the lift the trophy, he called upon opposition captain Gregory Beaugrard to raise it with him.
The gesture was seen as a tribute to the efforts of the third-tier minnows in reaching this year's final.
Quevilly overcame Marseille in the quarter-final before recording a stunning last-minute victory over Rennes in the semi-final.
