Premier League champions Manchester City will face Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League group stages.

Manchester City have been drawn to play Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League group stages.

City and Shakhtar are no strangers to each other, with the two clubs having met at the same stage of the competition last season.

Pep Guardiola's charges will also take on French side Lyon and German outfit Hoffenheim, who have reached the group stages of the competition for the first time.

The Premier League champions are looking to reach the final for the first time, having progressed through to the knockout stages in each of the last five seasons.

The first matchday takes place on September 18 and 19.
