Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta: 'I will be back for Liverpool'

Manchester City right-back Pablo Zabaleta expects to return from injury in time for the visit of Liverpool.

Manchester City right-back Pablo Zabaleta has revealed that he intends to be fit for the visit of Liverpool after the international break.

The Argentine has missed the Sky Blues' last seven games after suffering a knee injury in the win over Newcastle United in early October.

Nevertheless, the 30-year-old, who also missed the start of the season, expects to be in contention when the Reds visit Eastlands on November 21.

"I am doing okay, progressing well and trying to be fit for the visit of Liverpool after the international break. We'll see how it goes in the next week or so," he is quoted as saying by FourFourTwo.

"At the moment the plan is to re-join the rest of the team next Monday so hopefully everything will go well and I'll be available for our next game."

It was reported earlier on Thursday that Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge also expects to be fit for the contest.
