Frank Lampard impressed with "calm" Manuel Pellegrini

Manchester City midfielder Frank Lampard insists that manager Manuel Pellegrini is handling the pressure after their Champions League exit.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is not showing any signs of being under pressure, according to midfielder Frank Lampard.

The Chilean is reportedly fighting for his future at the Etihad Stadium after the English champions crashed out of the Champions League to Barcelona in the last 16 and lost ground in the domestic title race.

Lampard told Sky Sports News: "I think Manuel is very calm. You can see his nature. He is very experienced and can handle all pressures.

"He's got a good manner and I think it is very important as a top manager that you never look as if the pressure is getting to you and he certainly never gives us that vibe."

Pellegrini guided City to the Premier League title and League Cup success last season.
