Sergio Aguero breaks a Premier League goalscoring record during his final appearance for Manchester City in front of the Etihad faithful.

Sergio Aguero broke a Premier League goalscoring record during his final top-flight appearance for Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

The Argentine's participation against Everton on the last day of the season was up in the air due to injury, but he was fit enough to come off the bench and net twice in front of the Etihad faithful.

Aguero scored two quickfire goals in a 5-0 success against the Toffees before lifting the Premier League trophy aloft for a fifth time, and his brace on the day took him up to 184 goals for City in the top flight.

In doing so, Aguero set a new record for the most Premier League goals scored for one club, surpassing the 183 that Wayne Rooney struck for Manchester United.

The 32-year-old has reportedly agreed to sign for Barcelona on a two-year deal as he enters the final few weeks of his Man City deal, and a move to Catalonia is expected to be announced after he bids farewell in next week's Champions League final against Chelsea.

Aguero's brace on Sunday represented only his third and fourth Premier League goals of the season, but he has now amassed 260 strikes in 389 games for the club in a glittering 10-year spell.
