Niall Quinn: 'Manuel Pellegrini is in the firing line'

Former Manchester City striker Niall Quinn says that Manuel Pellegrini is in the firing line following the club's disappointing season.

Former Manchester City striker Niall Quinn believes that Manuel Pellegrini is at risk of losing his job as manager.

The Chilean saw his side succumb to a 4-2 defeat to city rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, which leaves them fourth in the Premier League.

With City's chances of defending their league title now slim, Quinn says that Pellegrini is under increasing pressure.

"His head's on the block and he's in the firing line," Quinn told Sky Sports News.

"How they finish off is important. They've got to show they really want to play for this guy and in turn he's got to make sure they're up for and they want to stay."

Pellegrini was appointed City boss in 2013.
