Bayern Munich have reportedly placed Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola on a shortlist of candidates to become the club's next manager after the sacking of Niko Kovac.
The club dispensed with Kovac following a 5-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt which left the German champions fourth in the Bundesliga.
Thomas Tuchel, Jose Mourinho, Erik ten Hag and Ralf Rangnick have all been mentioned as potential candidates to replace Kovac as permanent manager.
According to Bild, Bayern have placed Guardiola, who was in charge at the Allianz Arena between 2013 and 2016, at the top of their priority list.
Guardiola, whose Manchester City side are nine points behind Liverpool in the Premier League table, is said to have visited the club's training ground a few months ago and continues to own a property in Bavaria.
Despite reports claiming that the Catalan will see out the final 18 months of his contract, Bayern are convinced that Guardiola is unhappy in Manchester and could be tempted to return to the Bundesliga.
