Sergio Aguero will reportedly be allowed to leave Manchester City this summer if he expresses a desire to leave.

Manchester City will reportedly not stand in Sergio Aguero's way if the striker makes it clear that he wants to leave the Etihad Stadium in this summer's transfer window.

As it stands, City will be unable to play Champions League football until the 2022-23 campaign having been hit with a two-season suspension by UEFA.

Head coach Pep Guardiola is expected to remain with the club regardless of whether the ban is overturned, but according to The Sun, the Citizens are willing to allow Aguero to leave this summer.

The report claims that Aguero is still happy in Manchester - where he has a contract until June 2021 - but the Argentina international could consider his future due to the recent developments.

City are believed to be confident of keeping the majority of their squad together but would allegedly grant the 31-year-old a summer exit if he expresses a desire to leave.

Aguero is the club's all-time leading goalscorer with 254 strikes in 367 appearances, and the forward will be looking to break Wayne Rooney's derby record on Sunday afternoon.
