Marseille have become interested in acquiring Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez on a loan deal for the 2022-23 campaign, according to a report.
The 22-year-old is yet to join up with Pep Guardiola's side despite signing for the club for around £14m from River Plate back in January, having spent the last six months back on loan with the Argentinian outfit.
Guardiola has recently hinted that he sees Alvarez as part of his plans for the upcoming Premier League season, who will join up with the champions for pre-season in the coming weeks, despite the arrival on Erling Braut Haaland from Borussia Dortmund at the same time.
However, should City look to sanction a loan move away for Alvarez in order to continue his development, Ligue 1 runners-up Marseille are interested in securing a temporary deal for the striker, according to Foot Mercato.
The report outlines how no offer has yet been made by the French side however, with a potential deal only at an initial stage of interest as things stand.
Alvarez was snapped up by City following an impressive 2021 campaign in Argentina, where he netted 18 goals and registered six assists in just 21 league appearances, and recently scored six goals during River Plate's 8-0 win against Alianza Lima in the Copa Libertadores.
